Every instrument that leaves this workshop has a number, and the number is written in a book.
The register records the instrument, its materials, its date, and the name of the person who first opened it, unless that person asks to be left out. It records subsequent owners if they write to me. It exists so that in fifty years someone holding a board of mine can find out what it is, and so that no reproduction I have made can ever be passed off as an antique. The certificate that ships with each piece carries the number, the description, and my signature.
Editions
Most instruments are made singly, to commission, and numbered in sequence. Each year there is a small numbered edition in a timber or stone I will not repeat, with its own case and certificate; the edition closes when the last is sold and is not reopened. The current edition is in the catalogue.
Terms
- CommissionOpened by enquiry, confirmed with a deposit of half. The balance before dispatch, once the photograph has been sent and approved.
- DeliveryA range of weeks for planchettes and rods; a season for boards and dials; up to a year for the exotic tier. I give a range, not a date.
- Catalogue piecesReserved in the basket, settled on the secure Shopify page, held for thirty minutes once reserved. Dispatched insured, with tracking, from Pennsylvania.
- ReturnsA catalogue piece not as described may be returned within fourteen days of receipt. A commission cannot be returned; it was made for you.
- AgeAdults only. The register asks; I check where I can.
- ClaimsNone. The instruments amplify the hand, record what happened, or hold a séance room's furniture to a standard. What moves them is your question, not mine.
